The Mercedes 240D was produced initially in the 115 chassis, but most of the numerous examples still on the road today were built in the classically elegant and rugged 123 chassis (from 1977 to 1983).
Powered by its virtually indestructible four cylinder “oil motor,” a properly maintained 240D will run as many hundreds of thousands of miles as you wish to drive it. The Mercedes 240D is not for everyone. To truly love your 240D you must be a basically patient person.
